The organic skincare journey

We decided to start this very first blog off by telling you who we are and why we do what we do.  Makes sense, right?

I'm Amy.  I'm a mom.  And I never dreamed I would be in the skincare business.  But, as is typical with life, a series of events has led me here and I wouldn't change it for the world!

My son was born with Eczema.  We tried every possible cure for him, including bottles of creams that cost ridiculous amounts of money.  One such cream, at a lofty $200 per ounce price, made my kiddo scream every time I put it on him.  To boot, it wasn't really working either.  I was already a frazzled mom of a 2 year old who never slept and had acid reflux from hell.  I was working full time, getting my Master's Degree in Education and on the verge of a break down.  One night, I can't even remember what time it was but it was late, my son had another acid reflux attack, and there was vomit everywhere.  After giving him another bath, probably the 15th of the day, I applied the cream my doctor had prescribed.  My son screamed.......and so did I.  As I sat in the floor wondering when I could look back on this and laugh (that's what people tell you will eventually happen...right?) I took my mind off the situation by reading the ingredients on the bottle of the $200 doctor prescribed cream.

"Ingredients:  blah, blah, blah, blah, caffeine.  Blah, blah, blah, Alcohol."

I will not quote the words that I said to the tile in the bathroom floor that night but I assure you they were not nice.  How in the world would anyone suggest giving a 2 year old a prescription with caffeine in it?  How on earth can irritated skin like Eczema get better if I'm putting alcohol on it?  My poor kiddo had been screaming in pain all this time and I never knew it.  I thought he just didn't like the feel of me putting the cream on him.  Well, that was all it took for this mommy to start searching.
I threw away the $200 bottle of cream and the next time I saw my son's pediatrician I let him know just what I thought about his caffeine and alcohol prescription.  I still adore that man to this day, but it opened my eyes to the level of "sell outs" that many doctors have become (that's a whole other blog I'll save for another day).

So, here we are, 10 years later, with a little company built on years of research and experimentation to find truly natural products just for you.
